In the late 1950s, Renault was targeting the American market. They asked to the Italian designer Pietro Frua to design a small convertible as well as a coupé, based on the chassis of the Dauphine. Presented to the public in September 1958, Brigitte Bardot will become her sexy and charming godmother. Initially powered by a 845cc 40hp engine, our 1964 model is fitted with the more powerful 1108cc and 55hp, 4-speed manual gearbox. Another significant improvement: our model benefits from the suspension and the 4-disc braking system from the R8 Gordini and the Alpine A110, both successful rallye cars! With its new and leak-proof soft top, it can be used in all seasons.
